Andrew Jackson 2c red-brown stamp value?

I'm trying to figure out how much these stamps I have of Andrew Jackson are worth. The following link shows exactly what I have. "Genuine stamp."

http://www.jlkstamps.com/facts/csa8.htm

The catalog(?) page that came with it is says that it is mint, hinged, and very fine. It is a sheet of six.

Help, please? haha.

There's a problem with that catalog page. A stamp cannot be mint and very fine at the same time. Mint means mint, exactly as the day it was made. Putting a hinge on the stamp, which used to be the standard, recognized way of collecting, turns a mint stamp into an unused stamp in a condition less than mint. What the catalog page should say is postally unused, hinged, very fine.

This is a Confederate States of America stamp, Scott #8. Quite a few of them survive today that were never used. The most valuable of these stamps are genuine examples that were used at the time of issue, during the Civil War. People have taken genuine unused stamps and applied fake cancellations, which is why any used examples need to be examined by an expert.

Fakes do exist of unused examples, but yours are probably genuine. Single stamps that have been hinged catalog for more, but sell for up to $20, usually less. How much of the original gum remains is a factor. A block of six is harder to find, and I found none that have sold recently. A block of six Scott #11 10 cent blue sold for $71.

A reasonable price for what you have is somewhere between $50 and $100. At the right time to the right collector, possibly more. Timing is everything when selling collector items. To get the most money, you have to find the person that really, really wants it, at a time when they have the money to pay for it.
