Embarrassed about my "Posh" accent?
My accent is fairly "Posh" according to most people and I myself have noticed it. When I meet new people, I usually get the impression that they think I'm stuck up because of my accent; causing me to lose some confidence in conversation. I'm British, but have never been brought up in England and most of my friends believe I'm a fan of the Queen. :S
Anyway, it's hard for me to speak on Xbox Live and other "speech" programs because of some of the comments I often hear on it. If anyone can help me get past it, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Haha!! I have the same problem, I'm from South Yorkshire and everyone says I sound too "posh" for yorkshire. However, I was born here and have never left!! I always wanted to be an actress and was told I could never be on Emmerdale as my accent isn't Yorkshire enough!!
My Grandad speaks quite broad Yorkshire (He says "watter", where I pronounce is "worter") but my mum doesn't and I think it's nice to be a little bit different.
